Amazon Dream Cruise Information
The Amazon Dream Cruise vessel is 27.5 meters (90 feet) in length and was built from traditional ipe and itauba wood. The vessel left the shipyard back in 2006 and can carry 18 passengers in total with a cruising speed of 22 knots.
The Cruise Rooms
The ship contains nine cabins. Each of these has its own unique decorations and set of Indian artifacts. The cabins offer fantastic views of the areas we visit and all offer spacious accommodation. Cabins are 12 by 14 square meters (130 to 150 square feet) with a ceiling height of 2.10 meters (nearly 7 feet). Each cabin has its own bathroom and toilet and has air conditioning. If you feel like adopting the Brazilian way of life, you also have a hammock to relax and unwind.
The priority of the cruise rooms is light, exotic wood, and the colours of fabrics. The dining room provides guests with engravings of Amazon history where passengers can view the great expeditions of the past.
The upper deck houses a bar and opens up so you can enjoy nature without obstruction. Enjoy delicious cocktails with exotic flavours like cupuacu, acai, guarana, acerola, and of course, caipirinha. The solarium with its lounge chairs is an irresistible invitation to do absolutely nothing, rocked by the gentle waves.
Electrical current on board is 220 volts
The Amazon Dream’s Brazilian chef exercises his cooking talent with local cuisine. You will enjoy duck with tucupi, an incredible diversity of fish (pirarucu, tambaqui, tucunaré) specialties of exquisite flavors such as the manicoba, jabu, tacaca. Fruits of the forest, including cupuacu, bacuri, acai, pupunha, lend themselves to the elaboration of delicious desserts. And the ice creams of the State of Para are among the world’s most exotic flavored with uxi, mangaba, graviola, tapereba and Brazil nut. Breakfast offers a profusion of sweetened and salted savours.
Amazon Dream Cruise Tours
Passionate professionals, botanists, and biologists, our guides/experts share their deep knowledge of the tropical flora and fauna as they unfold the mysteries of the Amazonian forest. They will allow you to better understand the life of the “caboclos” and the Indians, the economic stakes that this sanctuary of biodiversity represents, the realities of a region divided between a need to develop and the desire to protect its natural riches. A director, nine crew members and a guide/expert respond to your needs and expectations throughout the cruise.
The Amazon Dream is equipped with two powered dinghies to travel into the heart of the iguarapes and observe the plant and animal life. Masks, flippers and snorkels are available for guests to explore the translucent waters of the “aquarium lakes” under the watchful eye of an experienced diver. Rods and bait allow fans to fish “tucunare” (peacock bass), tambaqui or the black piranha.
