Waxy Monkey Frog
|

Description – Waxy Monkey Frog
Also known as the painted belly leaf frog, the waxy monkey frog is unusual due to its tolerance to sunlight. The frog coats itself with a waxy substance secreted from glands on its neck area. The wax protects the animal from sunlight that would otherwise dry the frog out. The frogs lay their eggs on leaves, which they then roll up using the wax to hold them in place.
