Sulphur Crested Cockatoo (Cacatua sulphurea)

One of north and eastern Australia’s iconic birds, sulphur crested cockatoos are often spotted in trees along the road. They have a magnificent crest atop their heads of yellow feathers, which gives an attractive display. They are a flocking bird and often noisy. They can also be destructive to houses by gnawing on the woodwork.
