Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus)

The largest living reptile, saltwater crocodiles are a magnificent animal of the Australian tropics. They are the most widely distributed crocodilian and live throughout the Australian Indo-Pacific realm. As their name suggests, these crocodiles do have a high tolerance to salt water, but they are also found in brackish, swamp, and fresh water. Unfortunately, these crocodiles are responsible for a number of human deaths each year, which will get fewer with increased education. Knowing what to do and what not to do in Australia’s crocodile territory, known as being “croc-wise” in Australia, will enable you to appreciate these animals in safety.
